John Black full series minus 1

John Black series – recommended reading order

The John Black series consists of four full-length novels and four short stories (eventually). The short stories have been written so that you can ignore them completely, or read them after finishing all the novels for some additional insight and backstory. However, if you want to flow through the complete story arc the way it was originally intended, here is the recommended reading order:

Of that list, only the last one, “Cloak of Black, Mantle of Sorrow,” a short story from Holly Black’s perspective, is not yet released. I’ll be releasing this final short story as a coda to the entire series available exclusively within the box set of all the books. Expected released date for the box set with this bonus (last) short story is October 2018.

Cheers,

K.

you should really sell “Cloak of Black, Mantle of Sorrow,” individually for those fans who already bought each of your books as they came out and supported you and not force us to re buy them in the box set. as i already own them i will not be buying them again. plus you left off your last book with john trapped and i would like to see how or if that is resolved. thank you for writing wonderful books. have left reviews for them all.

      Kolan,

I appreciate this feedback and good idea. I emailed you directly about it as well. I’ll be working to release Cloak of Black, Mantle of Sorrow as an independent book asap.

          Kolan,

It took me longer than expected due to other commitments, but today I clicked PUBLISH on the stand-alone ebook for Cloak of Black, Mantle of Sorrow. As I said to you earlier, I want to give you a free copy for prodding me to do this. Email me at keith@keithsoares.com and I’ll make sure you get the book.

          Cheers,
          K.
