Science fiction book of the year from Red City!

The Oasis of Filth – The Complete Series has just been named Red City Review’s 2014 science fiction and fantasy book of the year! I got the news over the Thanksgiving holiday while with family, so it made a good time even better. Many thanks to the Red City folks — and readers like you — for the kudos. Makes me feel good spending those long hours in front of the computer screen, typing away.

And that’s not all the good news for the book (affectionately being called TOOF by some folks, much like Game of Thrones is GOT or in Star Trek circles, TNG means ‘The Next Generation’). In November, TOOF (which I will have to admit sounds silly) became an Amazon Top 100 bestseller, and hit the following chart positions:

#1 bestseller in Post-Apocalyptic
#2 bestseller in Dystopian
#3 bestseller in Science Fiction
#4 bestseller in Science Fiction and Fantasy

That third one really blew me away. #3 in the entire Science Fiction category! That means that, for a brief while at least, my book was sitting above authors I’ve read, respected and admired for years. Incredible. Authors like Hugh Howey, William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, Andy Weir, George Orwell, Isaac Asimov, Kurt Vonnegut, George R. R. Martin, Ernie Cline, Ray Bradbury, Douglas Adams, Frank Herbert, and even two huge idols of mine, Arthur C. Clarke and Stephen King.

So, thank you, thank you, thank you! Such exciting stuff going on. I wish I had my next novel ready for you all right now — For I Could Lift My Finger and Black Out the Sun is getting close but not quite done.

Finally… I redesigned my website! Please leave a comment below to tell me how you like it.

Until next time… Cheers,
K.
